Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What is it that you do, and what inspired you to do it?

I’m from a super small town in central Massachusetts called Spencer. I am a WWE superstar. I travel all over the world and entertain the WWE Universe. I’ve been doing that for about 6 years now. I also am part of our reality show on E! called ‘Total Divas.’

What project are you currently working on and what’s after that?

I’m currently in the process of creating my own wine brand called Capo Cagna which translates to Boss Bitch in Italian. I’m also working on developing a community for women under the Capo Cagna brand. The world is so social media driven now. We’re creating this false sense of reality and I think it’s important to remind women that what you see on social media is not real life. We need to come together and remind ourselves of the boss bitches we truly are.

Who has been the most important person in your life? Can you tell me about him or her?

The most important person in my life is my sister. She is my rock. No one understands me like she does. We’ve been best friends our entire lives and I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. She inspires and amazes me on a daily basis.

What was the happiest moment of your life? And the saddest?

Fortunately, I have several happy moments. I would say it’s a tie between two. The first is becoming women’s champion in the WWE because I had been overlooked and underestimated from the start of my career. When I won that title it validated my hard work and dedication to the sport. The second is purchasing my condo. I bought it all on my own without a man or help from anyone. That was the best feeling in the world, I felt so accomplished. The saddest is when my grandparents passed away. I come from a very big Italian family and we’re all super close. Losing them was difficult for our entire family.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

The biggest influence on my life has been my parents. They have always encouraged me to follow my dreams no matter how unattainable they seem. They are my biggest support system and I wouldn’t be who or where I am today without them.

What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

The most important lesson I learned from my father when I was 11 years old. I used to compete in dance competitions and he had to tell me that sometimes it doesn’t matter how hard you work or how good you are, there will be others who get ahead just because of who they know. They really rocked my world at such a young age. I’m so grateful I learned that lesson then because it helped me get through a lot growing up.

The country seems to be very divided right now. What would you do to bring people back together?

Make everyone sit around and drink some wine together.

What is your earliest memory?

My second birthday. I was born October 23 so it was a Halloween/birthday party. I was dressed as a hula girl and I just remember dancing around my living room with my cousins.

Are there any funny stories your family tells about you that come to mind?

Oh man, there are too many to name. I was such a ham growing up. My poor sister was always forced into my crazy ideas and I never let her have any time in front of the camera in our home videos.

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of the fact that no matter what I’ve done with my life, I’m always the same person.

When in life have you felt most alone?

If you could hold on to one memory from your life forever, what would that be?

Has your life been different than what you’d imagined?

To be honest, it’s even better than what I imagined.

How would you like to be remembered?

For being a good person and making a difference.

Do you have any regrets?

I don’t. I try to learn from my mistakes.

What are your hopes for what the future holds for me?

I honestly don’t know what my future holds. I’ve been figuring it out as I go. I definitely want to be a mom and have a family, live happily ever after because I believe that fairytale still exists.

For your great great grandchildren listening to this many years from now: is there any wisdom you’d want to pass on to them? What would you want them to know?

I would want them to know that they can do anything they want, regardless of who tells them no. If they put their mind to something, they can accomplish anything. Lastly, to remember to stay true to who they are, don’t listen to the doubters and the naysayers.
